What does the term ADS Mean in Valorant?
Explaining ADS
When you aim down the sights in Valorant, it’s known as ADS. It means using a gun’s sight or scope to make your shots more accurate.
Using ADS while carrying a rifle such as the Vandal or Phantom, you slightly zoom in and the aiming becomes more precise for shots at a distance.
What Situations Call for You to Use ADS?
You need to be able to use ADS at the right time to play better with your guns in Valorant. Below are common situations in which aiming down sights can greatly benefit you.
- It is often better to hold long or narrow sightlines with ADS because it makes aiming more stable and accurate for far-away targets.
- Aim at the edge of the corner when not visible to be ready for a clean shot as soon as you see someone.
- Mid to long range shooting benefits from ADS, since it helps control the gun’s recoil.
- Just briefly using ADS can make it easier to make precision shots on sudden threats.
Yet, at distances where knives are used, ADS makes it more difficult than it supports. It’s useful to move and fire from the hip if you get into a tense situation and are moving quickly.
Situations When Not to Use ADS
Focus your aim away from the sights when you are in places like Hookah or narrow hallways. Since these zones are full of threats, your aiming speeds you up but also puts your field of view in danger. It is best to quickly take aim with your hips and swing your arms widely to respond to danger. You must react very quickly and be able to go between targets at this stage.
